Welcome!

Welcome to the official website of the Clerk of Superior and Juvenile Courts of Dade County.  My goal as Clerk of Courts is to make this website user-friendly and to provide as much information and as many services on-line as possible to the citizens of Dade County, court officials, and others needing our services. My staff and I continually strive to provide Dade County citizens with the highest level of professional public service.

The Superior Court was established under the Constitution of 1798 and is the highest court in each circuit.  It is a court of record which means that all records, documentation, and minutes filed in this office cannot be altered after filing.

The Clerk of Superior Court is a Constitutional Officer which means the position was created by an act of the Legislature in the State Constitution. The Clerk is accountable only to the people who elect her.   She is not an employee or appointee of any county or state commission or any agent or agency of the judiciary.  As an impartial county officer, the Clerk provides some of the most important checks-and-balances needed in both local county government and the state’s judicial system.  The Clerk is elected every four years.

The Clerk’s duties include running the business arm of the local court system; accounting for all monies arising from fines, fees, court costs and fees required by law for specific services; serves as clerk of the jury commission responsible for trial and grand juries; providing oversight and administrative support to the county board of tax equalization; and protecting and permanently maintaining citizens’ court, land, and other important vital records.

As you use this site, please feel free to let me know if there are additional services you would like this office to provide.

Thank you for visiting the Office of the Clerk of Superior and Juvenile Courts.
